      TIPS TO CONCENTRATE WHILE STUDYING

Here is a good article i found online on how to concentrate

if you follow these tips then you can really concentrate on your studies:

1.Drink more water, Eat on time and sleep on time,  we are all humans. We need food and sleep to live a healthy life. Important point about concentration is your health. You need to keep your mind and body healthy in order to increase the concentration.

2.Wake up early in the morning, it is always better to wake before 6 Am, I know it will be a difficult task for some students who cannot wake up before 6Am. Nevertheless, everyone should  remember  this proverb ” want to gain something, you need to lose something” just plan yourself everyday by sleeping early in the night it is always possible for you to wake up in the morning.

3.Do at least twenty minutes of meditation, try to concentrate on one particular thing and meditate. After you complete the meditation it is very important to do some exercises, if you know some floor exercises and stretches do it, and also you try to do yoga,  the Pranayama ( breathing practice) which will give more power to the brain and do some yoga with guidance which will keep you fit all the day.

4.Take the book and study at the early morning, your time will be tripled. I mean if you study for two hours in the early morning after following the above things your concentration will be on sky high, two hours equals six hours of learning, and your mind and body will act really swift and the learning process will become much easier.

5.Try to avoid disturbances while you are learning, if you cannot find peace, take a membership in a library go there and read. Slowly, when you do meditation your mind will become tamed, and you will not bother about things that distract you while you are studying.

6.Switch off mobile phones while you are concentrating on your studies, sometimes an unnecessary call can distract you, which will spoil the study for the whole day.

If you follow these tips  gradually you will become stronger in the mind, and you can easily concentrate on your studies even there is a disturbance.

      group detection pratical

Here is a good article i found online

for class 12 th organic chemistry chemistry group detection pratical

I start off with CARBOXYLIC GROUP ( -COOH )

The best method for the detection is NaHCO3 test. Carboxylic acids liberate CO2 with BRISK EFFERVESENCE
and it also turns lime water milky. Your job is complete and -COOH is detected.

      Alcoholic Group (-OH)

Alcohols give red colour when CAN (ceric ammonium nitrate) is added to it. You can see the actual rkn
anywhere but the reagent in the rkn and the colour should be remembered.
BUT MORE IMPORTANT IS DISTINCTION BETWEEN 1, 2 and 3 degree alcohols....
Many tests are present but more important and easy to remenber are....

      1) Lucas test (When alcohol is passed through( ZnCl2+ HCl) : 3 degree gives

      white turbidity immediatly,

2 degree gives tirbidity after 1 or 2 mins , 1 degree does not give any rkn at room temp

      2) Victor Meyer test: Now this is carried in various stages and based on the colour of

the end product, distinction can be made: 1 degree gives red colour, 2 degree gives

blue while 3 degree gives colourlees soln.I repeat that more than the rkn the

      end colour is more imp.

Phenolic Group (-OH attached to benzene nucleus)

Phenolic group give characteristic colour with neutral FeCl3 soln.(see the actual rkn)

      Carbonyl groups(Aldehydes + Ketones):

      1) Brady's test (commonly known as 2,4 DNP test) : This test is given by both Aldehydes and ketones by
giving orange/red/yellow colour crystalline products with DNP . (see the rkn)
BUT the questions arises HOW to distinguish b/w Aldehydes and Ketones ? Well here's the answer...
      Here is aldehydes VS, Ketones:

The most important fact about tollens and fehlings test is that even though ketone is not rediced by these
      two soln.
      alpha hydroxy ketones
ARE.. and this is very important factor as this is the reason
      monosacchirides reduce tollens reagent...

2)Iodoform test : This is very important test as it covers everyone from alcohols to

      aldehydes and ketones....

Actually only the following groups give this test and it is better to memorise them..
      1) CH3CH2OH   2) 2 degree alcohol but should be adjacent to terminal carbon
{ PLEASE NOTE THAT ALKYL HALIDES HAVING SAME STRUCTURE as above two give +ve iodoform test
      as in alkaline medium as OH replaces Cl.}
3)Every compound containing CH3CO ( acetyl group ) attached to H or C gives this test therefore among
aldehydes only CH3CHO gives this test...
THE end product is iodoform which is liberated when compounds containing any of the above groups
is passed through I2 an KOH...The colour liberated is yellow...

      Ester Group(RCOOR') :

      1) Hydroxamic Test : Esters react with NH2OH(hydroxul amine) to give Hydroxamic acid which then
reacts with FeCl3 to form a complex giving purple or deep red colour(see the rkn)
2)Hydrolysis Test : Now this one is common usually called saponification. You all may already know the rkn.
The rub is that alongwith NaOH Phenolphthalin is added to ester which gives pink colour but when the soln
is boiled pink colour is discharged due to formation of acid...

      Amide Group(-CONH2 ) :

Amides are simply decomposed by alkali soln liberating NH3 gas which give WHITE FUMES with HCl

      Amines(RNH2, R2NH, R3N , ArNH2)

      NITROUS ACID TEST :
NaNO2 + dil. HCl are added to the amines..
----Primary aliphatic amines liberate N2 gas with brisk effrvesence and clear soln is formed(see rkn)
----Primary aromatic amines give stable diazonium salt..and this benzene diazonium chloride gives
orange azo dye with alkaline beta naphthol( must have read the rkn in amines)
----R2NH (Secondary amine) gives oily yellow liquid...(see the rkn)

Unsaturation Test ( for alkene and alkynes) :

      1) Bromine water test: Both of them decolourise Br2 water..
2)Baeyer's test : Alkene and Alkynes also decolourise alk. KMnO4 ( Baeyer's Reagent)
Now how to distinguish BETWEEN Alkynes and Alkenes:
alkenes decolorise bromine water very rapidly, but alkynes take several minutes.

Finally its over, and i hope i have covered every compound..I hope you will find this article helpful..
If any result of rkn is wrongly written plz point it out ASAP and if there is any grammatical error plz .....
      dont bother me or yourself
Last but not the least thanks for reading my article coz i have put a lot of hardwork in it...

      Everything at one place

This page has links of all the topics that i have posted

        uptu date

UPTU Engineering Entrance Exam to be held on 20, 21 April

Uttar Pradesh Technical University will release the schedule for the State Entrance Examination (SEE) exam 2013 in engineering and management colleges today. This and many more decisions pertaining to the admissions in technical institutions will be taken in a meeting of the Central Admission Board (CAB) to be held at Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) on Tuesday. The meeting will be chaired by UPTU vice-chancellor Prof RKKhandal.

Though the university has already decided the dates for SEE 2013 as 20 and 21 April, decisions on the mode of examination whether online or offline will be taken on Tuesday. Currently, the state government merged the two state technical universities, the Noida-based Mahamaya Technical University (MTU) and Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU). After this merger, MTU university officials are trying to attract more students by bringing the brand value of SEE-UPTU back.

The meeting will see suggestions from many engineering and management institutions. Also, there is a proposal by private colleges to allow them to sell SEE brochures and application forms. Till last year, the forms and brochures were available only at post offices.

In the meeting, it will also decide whether the SEE for admissions to engineering colleges will be online or offline. Previous year, the university conducted SEE for MBA and MCA online. Even their application process was completely online. However, for engineering, the application process was both online and offline and the entrance test was in the written mode. This year, officials are hopeful that there will be online test for engineering students too. In this regard, JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida has also send proposal to the university to begin dual degree course in Applied Management. This will also be placed in the meeting.

How to study any topic for entrance exam

Cracking any entrance is NOT the easiest competition.

Guys your problem ends now. Here I provide you a systematic and a stepwise approach.I am presenting it here just for helping you.

This is how you should study any chapter for Entrance exam

        First study Ncert
The chief problem with some students is that they directly jump to tough Brilliants or FIITJEE.This method won’t work. First your basic concepts should be clear. In order to clear the concepts follow these books.
        PHYSICS:
        • NCERT XI and XII ---- If you sit back and analyze previous 5 years question papers of IITJEE you will find that most of the problems are of NCERT level. This has been proved by many top coaching institutes and even by those who topped JEE.One of my friend was able to get into top 2000 just by studying NCERT books.

        CHEMISTRY:
        • NCERT XI and XII ---- The most important and highly recommended book for IITJEE.
        MATHS:
        • NCERT XI and XII
When this is over. If possible try to repeat it 3 times .Power of repetition is unlimited. Before jumping to the next step ask yourself “Are my basic concepts clear” If yes then go to the next step which involves application of concepts.

Now study the chapter from these books
        PHYSICS:
        • HC VERMA I and II ---- This book is called the god of physics. After completing NCERT you will find this book really enjoyable to study. The solutions of HC Verma are available here. But I recommend better having a deep discussion with your friends or teachers, This will clear your concepts.

        CHEMISTRY:
        • Dr.O.P.Agrawaal and RC Mukerjee Physical chemistry

        MATHEMATICS:
        • K.C.Sinha Algebra & Calculus & Probability
        • S.L.Loney Trigonometry & Co-ordinates (at least thrice. If possible 4 times)
        • Must solve S.L.Loney Trigonometry 206 miscellaneous sums
        • Questions behind the KC SINHA algebra

        Consolidation Phase

Now as your concepts are cleared its time to raise your problem solving capacity.

Have patience at the start since you might face difficulties to solve tough problems. You will be able to build yourself with time and practice.
Guys trust my words, if you have completed the 1st and 2nd stage then nothing can stop you from clearing JEE.But if you want to get a good JEE rank then you should go for 3rd step.

        PHYSICS:
        • Arihant books on physics ie mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, thermodynamics and waves.
        • Objective Physics by DC Pandey.
Try solving the book again and again 3 times.

        CHEMISTRY:
        • Arihant publications books (Physical, Organic and Inorganic)
Now no need to study any more theories. Your concepts are already cleared in 1st and 2nd stage. Just move on to solving problems fearlessly.

        MATHEMATICS:
        • TMH --- Time for TMH
After solving KC sinha and SL Loney I don’t think you will find it tough as it is in reality

        Fourth Step
For getting a top 100 rank

Congrats for successfully completing the first 3 stages!!!Now comes the marathon problem solving practice. This stage will hone and test your skills as an IITian.

        1) Brilliant Tutorials material and YG files
        2) FIITJEE GMPs
        3) Question gained form coaching and friends

        4) Questions from APEX materials
        5) Exercises at the end of IL Finar Have you noticed that I have placed the brilliant tutorials and FIITJEE in the last stage while many coaching classes lay undue stress on solving these hefty books first

        Hot Tips For Success...

Study all the three subjects together without laying stress on one subject. It might be dangerous.

Better spend Monday for Physics, Tuesday for Chemistry, Wednesday for Math’s and repeat the cycle for
Thurs, Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, you MUST revise whatever you studied in last 6 days. REVISION IS A MUST.

one thing I feel I should add is that IITJEE isn’t that easy. You require sweating out all your power to clear it. But if you follow the above stepwise approach then no one can stop you from getting into IITs
And do not panic either while preparing
